Our First Easter at Sandmere: A Day of Fun, Family & Festivities
Sandmere was alive with colour, creativity, and community spirit this Easter as we hosted our very first Easter celebration - and what a day it turned out to be! Residents, their families, and our dedicated team came together for a heartwarming day packed with activities, laughter, and unforgettable memories.
The centrepiece of the day was our eagerly anticipated Easter Hat Competition, which saw residents showing off their imaginative flair. Hats of all shapes and sizes were adorned with colourful flowers, fluffy chicks, shimmering ribbons, and, of course, plenty of Easter eggs. The creativity on display was truly impressive, with each hat reflecting the personality and spirit of its maker. It was a joyful sight to see residents proudly wearing their creations, sparking smiles and conversation throughout the home.
Alongside the hat competition, families and residents had plenty of other activities to get involved in. A lively Easter egg hunt had little ones dashing around the home and gardens, eagerly searching for hidden chocolate treasures. Laughter echoed through the corridors and outdoor spaces as children collected their prizes, cheered on by residents and staff alike.
A thrilling raffle added a touch of excitement to the day, with a range of fantastic prizes generously donated by families and local supporters. The draw was met with great anticipation, and winners left with everything from hampers to handmade treats, adding a lovely surprise to the afternoon.
The day wasn’t just about activities - it was about togetherness. With the arrival of some long-awaited spring sunshine, many residents and their families took the opportunity to enjoy the garden, either stretching their legs with a leisurely stroll or simply sitting outside with a cup of tea, soaking up the warmth and fresh air.
