  • Music & Dance Classes
  • Outdoor Day Trips
  • And more

Gardening For Improved Physical Health

Outdoor exercises promote cardiovascular health, muscle strength, and flexibility. Our residents have the wonderful opportunity to use our closed away nature garden. Whether they want to simply relax in the garden or get involved in making changes, being outside in nature greatly affects their well-being.

  • Gentle exercise can improve mobility issues and reduce the risk of falls and injuries.
  • Spending time outside can increase Vitamin D levels, improving health and cognitive functions.

Arts & Craft Sessions

Arts and craft sessions improve emotional wellbeing and are always warmly received by our residents. Art sessions provide residents with a creative outlet that allows them to express themselves.

We will often design sessions with a relevant theme, and in summer you can find us painting our outdoor surroundings, taking inspiration from nature, or making decorations for our garden.

Music & Dance Classes

Our music and dance classes are a favourite in the summer months. Music and dance are a great way to add fun to physical activities. In nice weather, our residents enjoy taking music and dance routine classes outdoors. Allowing residents to get some physical activity in the sunshine is a fun way to incorporate sunshine into our weekly schedule.

Outdoor Day Trip

Spending time outdoors in the summer is a fun way to socialise with the outside world and get residents some variety. As the summer months progress, you may find us taking our residents on boat trips, to the beach, to local parks, or other Summer-themed day trips.

BBQ Events

A barbecue is a fantastic way to get residents and family members together in the summertime. Cooking up classic dishes like burgers and hot dogs is an easy and fun activity that residents and staff enjoy. Finish up the day with ice lollies and you've made special summer memories.

Cooking classes

Cooking could be our favourite summer activity. From salads that promote healthy eating to the previously mentioned barbecues, we like residents to get involved in cooking where they can.

Cooking is a fun activity, especially because you get to eat the results of your food at the end! We also like to take our meals outside and enjoy them relaxing in the sun.

Enhanced Mental Health

Fresh air and sunshine increase the production of serotonin, a mood-enhancing chemical. Outdoor activities stimulate the mind and can help slow the progression of conditions such as dementia.

  • Being active and engaged can reduce feelings of depression and anxiety.
  • Activities can promote overall mental well-being.

Increased Social Interaction

Social interaction is always incorporated whilst planning our summer activities. From music sessions to dance routines or gardening, social activity is really good for improved wellbeing and cognitive function.

Our garden games, such as bowls, are a fun way to get our residents involved in fun outdoor events in the summertime.

  • Participating in group activities can foster a sense of community and belonging.
  • Social interaction can reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation.
  • Group activities can help build friendships and enhance emotional well-being.
  • Social interaction is essential for overall well-being.

Our Botanical Gardens

Our private gardens are the perfect venue for exciting summer activities. Our residents are encouraged to add their details and plants to our gardens. Our outdoor environment provides a secure environment for our residents to enjoy the summertime.

We always want to provide a fulfilling lifestyle for our residents during their stay with us, offering continuous support so residents can have access to the most exciting summer activities and garden games.

The Creative Side

A creative sensory activity is a great option for residents who don't want to get involved in outdoor activities or exercise classes. Creative activities also encourage residents to practice their fine motor skills. We may get crafty using our hands to make decorations for the home, paint pictures, or do other summer-themed activities.
