This past month has been a remarkable and heartwarming time at Sandmere Care Home as we welcomed new residents into our growing community. From the moment they arrived, the atmosphere has been filled with warmth, friendship, and a shared sense of belonging. Our dedicated staff has worked tirelessly to ensure every new resident feels at home, creating moments that are as meaningful as they are memorable.
The past few weeks have been brimming with exciting activities thoughtfully planned to delight and engage everyone. Our Lifestyle Lead, Johnathan, has taken the lead in curating a dynamic schedule of events, ensuring there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Residents unleashed their creativity during an autumn-themed pumpkin carving session, transforming pumpkins into artistic masterpieces and bringing festive charm to our home. The activity sparked plenty of laughter and camaraderie, setting the tone for an unforgettable season.
As the autumn chill set in, we celebrated Bonfire Night in true Sandmere style. The garden came alive with the sparkle of fireworks and sparklers as residents and staff gathered to enjoy the magic of the evening. The event was filled with joy, laughter, and the warm glow of connection, a perfect way to honour this beloved tradition.
To balance the excitement, Johnathan introduced a series of morning meditation sessions, giving residents the chance to unwind and focus on relaxation. These peaceful moments have been embraced as a welcome addition to the daily routine, promoting mindfulness and a sense of calm. It’s been inspiring to see how residents have embraced this new practice.
Our cinema room has also been a highlight of the month. A hub for shared entertainment, it has offered residents a chance to gather and enjoy a selection of classic and modern films. Whether indulging in old favourites or discovering something new, the cinema room continues to be a place where memories are made.
